This small bear-like creature, is a great plus to the environment.
Its so cute! Don't you think so?
The koala gets it's name from an ancient Aboriginal word meaning "no drink" because it receives over 90% of it's hydration from the Eucalyptus leaves (also known as gum leaves) it eats
These animals spend most of their time in the trees. They are herbivors that average about 20 lbs. in weight. There thick fur is usually ash gray with a bit of brown in some places.
The koala is the only mammal besides the Greater Glider and Ringtail Possum which can survive on a diet of eucalytus leaves.
